History: American Jewish Historical Society

The American Jewish Historical Society seeks "to foster awareness and appreciation of the American Jewish past and to serve as a national scholarly resource for research through the collection, preservation and dissemination of materials relating to American Jewish history." The oldest ethnic historical organization in the United States, the organization has a library (with locations in Waltham, Massachusetts and New York) with 50,000 volumes and an archive of approximately 40 million documents.
