Astronomy: Stereo's Extreme Ultraviolet Imager Views the Sun
As they near their final positions, the Stereo orbiters will study violent solar eruptions, known as Coronal Mass Ejections, that shower Earth with energetic particles that can disrupt power grids and satellite communications. Stereo data, from panoramic views from the Sun to the Earth created by combining images from a suite of telescopes on board the two spacecraft, will give scientists the ability to predict "space weather" and track "solar fronts."
