Foreign Affairs: Organization of American States
In 1948, 21 nations in the Western hemisphere signed the OAS Charter, nominally to affirm their commitment to common goals and their respect for each other's sovereignty. Today, the members of the OAS continue to attempt to work together to protect human rights, strengthen security throughout the region, and fight corruption. On this site, scholars and civilians can access such online resources as audio archives of OAS Radio, detailed background on the OAS's governing bodies, annual reports, online exhibits from the Art Museum of the Americas, and The Children's Corner (with material on the culture, history, art, and folklore of South, Central and North America). <http://www.oas.org/>
